Tip for Other Campers:
The river trail adjacent to the campsites is beautiful. There's some up and down on some rocks. The trail across the river is more challenging. The first 15 minutes of the trail is not too difficult but you will need to be sure-footed to do the section that goes up the mountainside. This is a good place for birding. There's no groceries nearby.

- CarylM There is a Walmart within like a mile and a half and even closer is a Harrah's casino that has an area for arcade but I saw the starting price for tickets was $25. In the town of Murphy which is extremely close they also had a Riverwalk which I got to see lots of birds by walking from the one that was off of 19 just passed a health gym. If you are taking NM hwy. 3 from Encino, expect a sharp winding drop into the Pecos river canyon. We were in a 24ft TT and had no problem.
