AMacN Excellent museum in the Visitor Center, recommend doing this before a cave tour to better understand what you are seeing. Cave tours were sold out on the weekend that we were there so plan ahead. The Ranger takes ~100 people through the cave tour. It is more walking than lecturing so we did not learn much on the tour except when Ranger answered questions.

We really liked the campground and the views of the Schoharie River are beautiful. Our waterfront site, 402, didn't really have a water view unless you were right up to the edge of the spot because...

Tip for Other Campers:

The Secret Cavern, Howe Cavern and Hunter Mountain area all about 40 min away. Don't bother visiting the abandoned zoo...we went and were asked to leave as it's only for those staying at the campground there. Their website may say this, my husband researched not me! K&K was great for horseback riding, maybe 35 min away. There is a little zoo with mostly...

We’re glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We are trying to figure out how to trim some of the foliage on the Creekbank without hurting the stabilization of the bank. We can suggest some other things to go visit the next time you’re with us that are closer.

With multiple levels on the side of a mountain. Each section of the park does seem like its own little mini park. We are glad you enjoyed camping on the Scoharie Creek.
