Tip for Other Campers:
Lots of farm stands, pumpkin and apple picking and hay rides. Many wineries to visit. Close to Long Island sound, and walking distance to the beach, not big and not soft sand, has concession stand and gift shop opened on weekends. Its a state park. For dinner go to cooperage Inn, great food and entertainment on weekends during fall season.

Question:
I'm planning a trip to LI possibly in October and I'm wondering if the water gets shut off October 9th at the campsites. The website states that the park season is April-Oct 9th. The reservation page for camping says the season ends Oct. 22nd....

Tip for Other Campers:
There is a 12'11" underpass just past the GW bridge. Lucky for us we are only 12'7", it was a big surprise. Lots of scrape marks on that old overpass. No signs warning of it before you saw the sign on the side of it. Geez.
