Tip for Other Campers:
See above, lots of cafes in towns, along hwy. I love the seafood chowder. Definetly a ntl park for hikers but we still had great time visiting various stops and the Viking site....
Tips from campers about Shallow Bay Campground
- Jeff Darrel & Cody There are amazing walking paths to the beach and marina.
- G And R Ice cream at the CBC store service station, wine and coolers at the West Hawk store. The Nitehawk has good food.
- B-Town Biker Lots of fun for all in the adjacent lake, theres also ice cream and some fast food right outside the park. They ask you to get a car pass (about $9.50 for the day) and print the pass before entering the park. Not great for those in the road without access to a printer.

For all campgrounds in Newfoundland, I recommend checking the "Boil Water Advisories" from the Newfoundland government website. We have run into multiple towns with boil water advisories. There are 15 pages of them on the current list of towns in Newfoundland (and probably Labrador). We now check each time to see if we are filling our tank before arriving...
