Site 22 was level and very open. Only 4 sites on our bench overlooking the valley. Very open, no trees on this section. Also no outhouses on this level as they were both boarded up. The firewood was...

Tip for Other Campers:

Good area to explore the Bras D'or and the Cabot Trail. We drove the trail in about 8 hours, with lots of stops for viewing and photos. Baddeck was also a great little town to view, Alexander Graham Bell Museum we spent over 2 hours there. Unfortunately you can't view the mansion he built even though it is a protected Gov. Site.

This provincial park campground has beautifully maintained lawns and trails and nice spacious campsites. We camped at Whycocomagh Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tip for Other Campers:

You must drive the Cabot Trail. The views are amazing. We did it in nine and a half hours, including a lunch stop at a cute cafe, hikes on three short trails, stops at many viewpoints, and a stop for ice cream.

  • DaveAndJoyce There are several really nice hiking trails withing the park, and of course there is no shortage of things to do on Cape Breton Island. Chief among them is the Celtic Colours festival, which lasts nine days, starting on the Friday before Canadian Thanksgiving (same day as Columbus Day/Indigenous Persons Day in the US).

Tip for Other Campers:

A gorgeous hiking trail starts in the parking lot here. Yes, its moderately challenging but we at least made it to the summit (1km climb) and the view at the lookout was worth it all. Sites are large enough that Starlink users should be able to find a clearance. Site 1 is terrific.
