Tips from campers about Put-in-Bay, OH
- Kzanol Golf carts are the standard to get around the island but they are expensive. Daily rates vary from $70-100/day. In our opinion, the better option was one of the many taxis that offer rides to anywhere on island for $4/person. There is only one company allowed to enter the state park (Put in Bay Taxi) but there are one of the least reliable to answer the phone. If you walk down to the park entrance any of them can pick you up at the cottages across the street. There is also a par 3 golf course across the street ($10 for nine holes, $5 to rent clubs). Just down the road is Joe's Bar which gives a food/drink option without going all the way into town. The main town is only 1.5 miles so even walking is an option.8 months ago South Bass Island State Park
- Pat_63 Bring bikes for transportation around the island. Roads are safe to bike ride on, many have a bike lane provided. Bring water toys, kayaks etc.2 years ago South Bass Island State Park
- RobsRVn Lots of things to do on put in bay. Make sure to rent a golf cart or bring your bikes. Weekends can get a little crazy in town. But the campground was a nice and quiet.2 years ago South Bass Island State Park
