One night in Doris CG. Site 43, a level back-in. Electric @ the site, H20 available throughout loops. Dump station at entrance worked just fine. Poor AT&T and T-Mobile coverage and a few OTA channels....

We stayed in a site next to the water. No full hookup, 30 amp electric and water only. We camped at Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge - Doris Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips from campers about Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge - Doris Campground
- RVL655675 We also visited the huge Bass Pro shops, Beale Street, Sun Studio , Mud Island and Graceland. Be careful navigating into the park, depending on what navigation you use it will route you through difficult roads. The area coming into the park is Sketchy, however the park is safe.6 months ago Trail of Tears State Park
- BFP50 There is a kids playground area and the park is beautiful. The Mississippi River overlook is a must.. There is excellent info in the visitors center. The sites are right next to a train track which if you like trains, it's pretty cool. Cape Girardeau is a great little town for sightseeing and everything from fast food to sit down restaurants and numerous gas stations.6 months ago Trail of Tears State Park
- Big Gig Upper campgrounds were empty so there was no issue riding the bikes around the campground roads. Long descending road to the campground but plenty of area to disconnect your tow vehicle at the bottom.6 months ago Trail of Tears State Park

Let me say I have lived in this area for nearly 50 yrs so I know the subject material well. This is Oklahoma but it may not fit your concept of the state as you cross it on I-40 headed east or west....

Tip for Other Campers:
Take your time throughout the park. Great to see wildlife the sun up and sunset. Mount Scott beautiful views. Go by MEERS GREAT RESTAURANT FOR GREAT BURGERS.
