  S&J Rudd Bison with their young, and elk and longhorn cattle, and who doesnt adore prairie dogs? The Visitor Center staff was very informative as was the movie that tells the history. We drove into Lawton OK for church and found every store and gas station you could want. But best to fill up long before you get to the park. Also, watch out for bison

  AMacN Make sure you go to the Visitor Center, which has a good museum and gift shop. We got excellent trail advice from volunteer at the front desk. The trail maps and signage is not good so it was really helpful to have someone explain what we needed to do. We really enjoyed hike to Crab Eyes balancing rock formation, from Sunset trailhead past pit toilets follow Charon Gardens wilderness area you will eventually come to sign that shows Crab Eyes direction (versus Treasure Lake). There were climbers rappelling on the rock face when we got to Crab Eyes.We also enjoyed short hike to beautiful overlook of Post Oak Lake and boulder field, from Treasure Lake trailhead take short path past Cedar tree out onto rocks.We enjoyed spiral drive up Mt Scott for long views. Check times - gate opens at noon on weekends and people were lined up on the side of the road waiting

  DavRou Walmart, Target and other stores available in Lawton. Must try Muttis German Restaurant in Lawton. Check out the U.S. Army Artillery Museum, and Geronimos Grave on Fort Sill; stop at the Visitor Center just outside the gate on Sheridan Road for a pass if you dont otherwise have base access.
