This Oklahoma State Park is very far off the beaten path, but I was surprised to see that on July 4 my friends and I were the only two RVs in the park. Its not a huge park in the RV section has very...

Tips from campers about Black Mesa State Park
- 1959cook I just want to reiterate what someone else said about the hazards of approaching the park from the west. I didn't see that tip and took the shortest Google Maps route from I-25/Pueblo CO which took me over 30 miles on washboard dirt roads dodging free range cows and sliding on deep sand in some curves. With no cell service should a breakdown occur. I spent the first day at the park inspecting the RV for damage from the vibration and the large rocks thrown into the undercarriage. Plan a route to Boise City or Kenton and approach from the east. Other2 years ago Black Mesa State Park

- Mitche There is a small store at the park, and Kenton is about 7 miles west, with one restaurant and NO services, and Boise City is about 25 miles east, with several restaurants and all services.8 months ago Black Mesa State Park
