Tip for Other Campers:
All the sites along the lake are great! They all have a large grassy area leading up to a walking trail along the lake shore where there are story boards every 100 feet or so.

Tip for Other Campers:
Altus is your best bet for shopping if you need it. The drive over was interesting as we watched the airforce perform flight paths overhead. We ate at Applebees where the staff was friendly. Got a few prints at Excellence Copy Shop, and shopped at a small (super) walmart.

The trails in the state park are poorly marked on maps, and on the trails themselves, and the trails are not maintained. Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is fantastic, with its western end 25 minutes away down the dirt road opposite the state park entrance.
