Tips from campers about Pawhuska, OK

  • Keith & Cindy We were in the perfect place to visit Waco Mammoth National Monument, Magnolia Market, the Brazos River and historic bridge. Nearby we found a lot of good food which were not chain restaurants.
  • Lew S. Dowtown Waco is not far and has a lot of different restaurants to try. We ate at a Mexican place called Hecho en Mexico which had very good food. We didn't try the Magnolia restaurants since they close at 3 and we were there only for dinner. We also visited the Homestead Craft Village at Homestead Heritage. This is a religious body founded 50 years ago in NYC. They home school their children who are required to learn a little about each of the crafts they do in the village. They have stores to sell the products they produce on site which include: woodworking, fabrics, metal working, agriculture, and ceramics. Each shop has people ready to explain what they are doing and how they do it with online classes available as well as on-site classes. The people were very friendly and took a genuine interest in explaining their crafts and their philosophy. They also have a nice restaurant and a BBQ restaurant. We ate at the restaurant for lunch, but it is quite crowded so expect a wait. They do give you an exact time when your table will be ready.
