Tips from campers about Coldwater, ON
- Deanna_Hince_823 There are two excellent Disc Golf Courses back to back near the North Soccer Complex. One is a long distance course and the other is a technical course. There is a restaurant through the back gate called The Hangar! Absolutely delicious food and service. They are open for lunch and dinner. We had ribs and brisket with an incredible house salad and buffalo chicken wings with cajun fries. In the morning we drove into town and ate breakfast at the Eggington. Delicious Country Fried Steak with Gravy and fried red potatoes. They also have every type of omelet and skillet you can think of. Plus huge Cinnamon Rolls and Sticky Rolls and Muffins. You won't be disappointed at either place. The prices were good too. There is an excellent paved bike and hiking path throughout the whole town called the North Platte River Trail. Such beautiful views. We didn't get a chance to visit all the Historic Downtown area and several museums. We also didn't get to Rotary Park where there is a short walk to a waterfall. If you go a little further you will be able to go to Casper Mountain just 30 minutes from the campground. We definitely could have stayed here one or two more nights. We used the old showers right behind the KOA office. They were great! There are signs saying upgrades will be coming soon. There is a whole new shower building with a code in the middle of the park. But they are really busy. So we used the ones by the office. The Laundromat is clean and nice. 4 washing machines with 2 of them being a little bigger. All for $2 a load. The dryers are $2 a load too. We loved they had a pole to hang up your clothes after they were clean. They had a nice store with most things you would need for groceries, gifts or for your camping experience. They had a great ice cream selection too.6 months ago Casper KOA Journey
