Tips from campers about Balsam Lake Provincial Park
- Freech Fossil tour was good. Make sure to look for the 1/3 mile trail from the campground to the fossil site. Do not walk the road to the site! Hot and hilly. Ghost town mine was very interesting.9 months ago Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park

If you need ice, don't buy at the campground's park store. Instead, purchase your ice at the private "Park Store" which is accessible beside campsite #300 -- there's even a parking lot there to use and you don't leave the campground. We bought 1 bag of ice within the park initially and paid $4 for the smallest bag of ice cubes I'd ever seen! Then we found...
