We were there on a long weekend so the campground was full. Despite that we had no issues with noise and everyone was respectful of their neighbours. The hosts were very friendly and went out of their...

Tip for Other Campers:

Merrickville is a charming little town with a number of pubs, restaurants and a couple of gelaterias to tempt the palette. Add in a few craft stores and galleries and the like and you can spend a whole weekend just wandering around. The locks are busy so you can spend a pleasant afternoon in the shade under the trees just watching the boats come through.

Tip for Other Campers:

Plenty to see and do in the town of Merrickville. If you prefer to dine in, theres a restaurant (Iron Horse) that will deliver to your site. Pets are permitted and must be leached at all times. Although we dont have any young children, I didnt see any activities for them. The management of this campground are second to none.

Tips from campers about Lions Club Park

  • rayschilke Lots of nature and attractions to see in this area of the Smokies. A dream place for motorcycle riders. It is an hour drive to more that could be seen in a week.
  • Lkldawg1 Review their website for driving routes to get there!
  • DaBoo My advice? Plan multiple Teaberry Hill trips (or spend a month ;-)). That way you have more time to spend at the camp and also explore the area (we had planned a motorcycle trip everyday for the week, I wish I would've had a day or two of just "camping" or rafting or tubing...). We enjoyed some new local back roads (many of them) for motorcycling (of course there's the Tail of the Dragon - giggle fun, but there's more roads to explore!). Fontana Dam was a well spent stop. For me, it was worth taking the time going back to Townsend: go 'up' the tail, drive the entire Foothills Parkway (all the way to end), drive back down 321 to eat in Townsend and then ride down the Little River Gorge Road - it has been my favorite road for many years. We did go "full circle" through Cherokee back to Teaberry Hill - but that was a very long day or riding - stunning - but long.

Nice grassy sites, clean bathrooms, and a friendly camp host/manager. Located right in Merrickville, it is close to all the little shops and restaurants. We camped at Lions Club Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tip for Other Campers:

Several restaurants and cafes in Merrickville - we did not sample because of Covid. A good grocery store on the high street - opposite a great ice cream shop.
Parks Canada run the National Park that is the RIdeau canal system and there is plenty of information available at the visitor centre in Merrickville by the Blockhouse
