“All the sites have great bushes ring around them. It makes you feel you're in a private area. ”
Nightly Rate: $35 USD
We were here in February, so we can expect rain and wind. But on our 6th day, it rained so much that in 48 hours, they evacuated the campground due to the creek in the middle of the campground was at...

Tip for Other Campers:
There are fishing charters right in Charlestown and a wonderful fish market with the best oysters I have found in ages....
“Beautiful coastline view and hiking area.”
Nightly Rate: $50 USD
We like to stay at state park campgrounds but this one needs updating. Bathrooms are in need of updating, we didnt use due to condition. A lot of repairs going on with water lines while we were there....

- Hitch2go Take the short drive out of the park to the left and go to the lookout at the end of the road as well as the vistas along the way. There are awesome views of the coastline as well as sea lions, harbor seals and we even saw whales that inhabit the area. Oregon National Dunes is just north of Coos Bay. Also, Charleston has great fresh seafood.5 years ago Sunset Bay State Park
- OHCal1988 The Light display at Shore Acres was wonderful and a must-see, however, you have to reserve in advance online, but as a Park guest, you don't pay the $5.00 parking fee. Chuck's Seafood Market was awesome. We purchased fresh caught crabs and a pound of steamer clams and really feasted.... The lunch we had at Tai Garden was very affordable and generous! (we actually go two meals out it, so even with pot-stickers, we paid about less than $20 per meal for the two of us.) The Oregon University Marine Research Center was also a bargain and fun - $4 each (senior rate). Bastendorff County Park / Campground has a $10.00 dump-station and ocean view sites. Its close by and its on the same road you take to get to a much larger beach than the one at Sunset Bay. (If you cannot get into Sunset Bay, it is also nice campground.)1 year ago Sunset Bay State Park

Another nice Oregon state park. Surprisingly busy on this Oct weekend, but as expected the weekday was quiet. This beach is a short walk thru a tunnel under the road, there are also some trails to...

Tip for Other Campers:
There is not cell service at this park, however if you can get a site close to check in, you can get 2 to 3 bars due to a Verizon booster. There great views at stopping point as you drive down the dead end hwy. Oh, there are speed bumps as you approach the campground and the 25mph speed zone....

“Good Park to Explore Cape Arago”
Nightly Rate: $42 USD
We stayed for three nights while exploring Cape Arago on our bikes. Our site was adequate, but sites are closer together than we prefer. They have wifi, but not down at the far end of the park. No...

Tip for Other Campers:
The Cape Arago Highway is OK for cycling. No shoulder but cars drive with awareness of cyclists. The waves at Shore Acres are amazing during high wind conditions!...
