Plan on speking time at the state park accross the road. Look for road on left to gain access to the river access.
We reserved a full-HU site; wish we would have looked at it before we paid & parked. It was very hot; they told us all the sites were shaded--not true. Our site had 4 very old trees with most limbs...

Tip for Other Campers:
We tried out Hat Rock CG due to being across the road from Hat Rock State Park (which doesn't have camping facilities). In the early morning or late evening when it's cool enough, Hat Rock State Park is nice for walking. There are trails, some in open terrain, and one along a good-sized pond. We saw deer, a beaver, herons, pelicans, and an eagle's nest.

Small sites, not level, tables not level, you can smell the sewer. Very noisy at night. 10 pm quiet time not enforced. No night security. We camped at Hat Rock Campground in a Motorhome.
