The High Prairie Loop trail to the top of Lookout Mountain provided spectacular views of Mt. Hood (plus Mts Jefferson, St. Helens, Rainier and Adams) on a clear and smoke-free day. (One of the roads to the trailhead is pretty bad.) The Trillium Lake Trail is very easy. Smoky day hikes we liked were Tawanamas Falls (a bit of a drive) and Little ZigZag Falls....

- Kerston Beattie Nearby is Discovery Foods, a locally run independent grocer that offer local produce, excellent local meat and has an onsite bakery. In the same complex there is a Liquor store, a local pizza outlet, a Medical Clinic and a small Pharmacy.
