Tips from campers about Maupin, OR
- BDsNoBo The High Prairie Loop trail to the top of Lookout Mountain provided spectacular views of Mt. Hood (plus Mts Jefferson, St. Helens, Rainier and Adams) on a clear and smoke-free day. (One of the roads to the trailhead is pretty bad.) The Trillium Lake Trail is very easy. Smoky day hikes we liked were Tawanamas Falls (a bit of a drive) and Little ZigZag Falls. Mirror Lake is a waste of time unless it's clear--if Mt. Hood is obscured by smoke when you start, don't expect it to clear up by the time you get to the lake. We had a nice lunch at Mt. Hood Brewing.5 months ago Spring Drive RV Campground

- Calendaria Nearest groceries and gas are 8 miles east. 24-hour self-serve pumps at the store which although small has ample selection of necessities. Approximately 2 miles north of Warm Springs Indian Reservation. The very small community of Wamic, about 35 miles NE of park has an unbelievable selection of RV accessories up to tongue jacks and everything electrical and plumbing in their quite spacious general store.3 years ago Spring Drive RV Campground
