If my information is correct. Of the 200 sites only three are "weekender" or transient sites. The site we were in (31) was a very nice site and better than a lot of the seasonal sites in my mind....

Tip for Other Campers:

Exceptionally beautiful driving to Lancaster's best. We recommend Historic Rockford, President Buchanan's Wheatland, The Railroad Museum (a pretty far ride), Berks County Heritage Center with a Canal Museum and The Gruber Wagon Works Museum and Tour. Kitchen Kettle offers good shopping and eating. The Franklin House Tavern (close to campground) had good...

The campsite we were at was very well maintained between two permanent sites. I knew some people there and others campers were very friendly. The camp store hours were very awkward but the staff was...

Tips from campers about Cocalico Creek Campground

  • Riley & AJ Check out their website: www.pelicanlake.com. They have a full section on things to do in the area... and there are unbelievable things to do here! Nestled between Marco Island to the south and Naples to the north, it's got everything. Restaurants, shopping, beaches, fishing, biking, hiking, golf and more. Everything is just 5 minutes away... grocery stores, restaurants, hardware, Walmart, banking, diesel... it's all within a 5 minute ride. Wonderful dog park 10 minutes away on Marco Island or venture a little farther to take the pooch to the beach in Bonita!
  • Apaymer We went to Marco Island for dinner on two different nights. Unfortunately, we didn't bring a towed car with us so we had to use a car service to get to the island. Uber service in this area is TERRIBLE! You have to make a reservation hours before you plan on going anywhere. Once we got onto the island we were unable to get an Uber back so we scrambled to find a local car service for the return trip. That being said, head to the JW Marriott and enjoy the views and amazing food (we had sushi on the lobby floor). Upstairs there is a great bar that is inside and outside with fantastic views. The next night we went to the Snook Inn. Good food, fair prices but be prepared to wait for your table.
  • RHP1954 Beautiful beaches on Marco Island and Naples. Take an Airboat ride through the mango trees. Ride your bike in Skull Valley and see lots of alliigators.

This campground is overrun by golf carts. If you have kids, beware! Seasonal sites are allowed to have a golf cart. Many of them race around all day and play bumper cars. No beer is allowed off of...
