Tip for Other Campers:
Bring all your food with you as shopping is 20 minutes away. They have a bistro for breakfast and lunch with great food. Recommend the sausage burrito

Enjoyed our stay, so peaceful and the winds spread the smell of pine - dog lobed it here also. We camped at Stable View in a Motorhome.

Tips from campers about Stable View
- chasing60 Nemo point is fabulous to drive out to & we wished we could have stayed out there but the roads were just a bit too steep and with the rain coming (roads are gravel) - we did not want to risk it. Smaller rigs who can boondock should def stay there for the views. Wrangell was interesting with a good museum & walking tour. Read John Muir's "Travels in Alaska" for some background to make your visit more interesting.6 years ago Shoemaker Bay RV Park

It is a remote location. Staff does suggest you stop for supplies before arriving as the closest grocery store is 20 minutes away.

Tip for Other Campers:
Unless you are at Stable View when they are having an event (they have food trucks then), then the closest place to eat is about 5 miles away at a Waffle House at the I-20 exit. Stores are about 20 miles away. So stock up for your stay unless you are going to Augusta anyway.
