Wildlife loop around sunset or just after sunrise. Iron Mountain road (to visit Mount Rushmore) - going north gives you opportunity to see Mt Rushmore through the tunnels; Needles Highway and if you can, hike the Cathedral Spires trail (we saw mountain goats).
