Tip for Other Campers:
Swing around to the south and head to Mt. Rushmore from the south in US 16A. You'll get to drive a snaky mountain road with 3 tunnels that average 10' wide & 10' tall. NO CAMPERS, pick-ups & cars only. But you'll get sneak peaks of Rushmore on the way. Another scenic drive is the Needles Highway, again with the tiny tunnels. Landscape is stunning!

Alpine inn has a great restaurant in an old historic building. They offer 2 meals, bacon wrapped fillet mignon or vegetarian spatzl with fresh steamed vegetables. Full dinners start at $15.95. Drive Needles hwy. Its amazing.
