Tip for Other Campers:
Their are two routs to the site when you get there one will take you right by Rushmore and the other through some great scenery and interesting villages. One route is 10 miles long and the other is about 25 there both worth driving

Tip for Other Campers:
GPS is very iffy to get you here. Head to Mt. Rushmore from Rapid City, on Hwy 244 and pass it, left lane, for 4 miles. Campground will be on the left.

“Very pretty campground with lake access”
Nightly Rate: $28 USD
Some of the sites are quite small. The Horsethief Lake trail is really nice, but very wet and slippery if its been raining. We camped at Horsethief Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.
