“Basic but affordable”
Nightly Rate: $25 USD
We needed a long term place for a month to do some work in GSMNP. This place checked the cost box. The price quoted was the discounted rate for a months stay. The campground is in the open so...

Tip for Other Campers:
Elviras is next door, open for breakfast and lunch. Many healthy food options.
Absolutely go to Cades Cove, also drive the Foothills Parkway.
Simple no frills, several full timers and work campers. Owner was very helpful and very friendly. A little road noise from 321, very quiet in the campground. It's an older place and not fancy but it...

The sign is easy to miss because this area is always busy with traffic.
Tips from campers about Smoker Holler RV Resort
- KathyMcP This park has miles of paved hike/bike trails. We saw just a couple of other people on them during our stay. .5 miles away is an outstanding Air and Space Museum--the Strategic Air Command Museum. Senior price was $13, we spent 4 hours there. Also nearby is the Holy Trinity Shrine--a spectacular piece of architecture on the prairie. We went through the 14 Stations of the Cross, which were especially poignant since we know Jesus did all that for us. The chapel itself was closed that day because they are re-roofing it. It is a wonderful place of peace and contemplation. We went to Lincoln, which was a traffic zoo. Our tourist time was probably better spent anyway helping a young man with his car problems. So we opted out of going to Omaha--it seems the cities are going down. Ashland is near enough for fuel and light groceries. We also stocked up on food and got diesel fuel at Costco a bit farther.3 years ago Eugene T Mahoney State Park
- Warnockers Mahoney has a small number of "full hookup" sites and they fill up really quickly. They have a much larger number of electricity only sites (including the one that we stayed at - Site 54). A lot of their sites are NOT reservable. They are "walkup reservation" only. Typically, if you arrive on a Wednesday you will have no trouble getting whatever site you want. Thursday morning will bring a more limited selection and by Thursday evening it will be slim pickings.9 months ago Eugene T Mahoney State Park
- Bawn Lots to do in the area. SAC Museum and Wildlife Safari are next door. Lots do do in the park, too. For dinner, we suggest Parker's BBQ near Ashland.5 months ago Eugene T Mahoney State Park

We are staying here for the summer season working at Dollywood. While it has many permanent sites with some old units in place for a long time. It is well run and quite except for the 321 highway...

Tip for Other Campers:
You walk walk over to one of the very best restaurants in the entire area Elvira's. Best breakfast and lunch and on weekends only, dinner you can find for 30 miles around.
Dollywood and Pigeon Forge are down the road about 7 or 8 miles.
Nightly Rate: $31 USD
We rated this as a 6 overall in comparison to other campgrounds nationwide. However, if we were to compare it to local campgrounds, it would be an 8 or so. Most campgrounds in the area were packed...

Dollywood nearby. Great Smoky Mountain National Park was beautiful, even in the freezing temps.

The park has pull through and back in gravel sites and cable. This is a nice park in the country and 1/2 hour from Cades Cove. Verizon good, Wi-Fi fair and road noise was at a minimum. Beautiful...
