Tips from campers about Fort Griffin State Park & Historic Site
- OlderGoat Many sites are pull-through; Plenty of trails, all dog friendly
- Campering Get reservations in advance for the cave tours
- AMacN Excellent museum in the Visitor Center, recommend doing this before a cave tour to better understand what you are seeing. Cave tours were sold out on the weekend that we were there so plan ahead. The Ranger takes ~100 people through the cave tour. It is more walking than lecturing so we did not learn much on the tour except when Ranger answered questions.

My husband and i had the park by ourself. We stay one night on our way to Colorado and it was amazing We camped at Fort Griffin State Park & Historic Site in a Travel Trailer.

Tip for Other Campers:
If you can come in June, the Albany town Fandangle of the Fort Griffin and area history play is worthwhile. Ft Griffin Historical Site worth a trip as well.
