Winnie has a nice ACE hardware/convenience store/small food market. Otherwise, we like going to Mont Belvieu to shop as there is a lot of construction eastbound towards Beaumont.

Tip for Other Campers:
If approaching from the east (Houston), special instructions were provided by the staff so we could avoid heavy traffic at the exit on I-10 (due to construction) and a hairpin turn onto the access road that leads to the park. We appreciated this so much! We did not visit any area attractions.

Tip for Other Campers:
If coming here from the West, you have to get off the I-10, turn onto exit 838, find a place to u-turn (we used the gas station) then come back onto the frontage road. That is because of to construction.
