- Vacation365 Be sure to do an airboat ride on Lake Okeechobee. What an amazing, alligator filled, large lake. You also have to eat at Lakesy- a true central Florida eatery with local cuisine. If it swims or crawls its likely on their menu! There are many paved bike trails running around the perimeter of the lake that offer another great perspective of the immense body that of water. The area is very convenient for shopping with many stores close by, including Costco. We were also able to get our propane tank refilled just a few miles from the campground.
