It takes some driving to get to the campsites but well worth it. Campsites are nice. Showers available. Windy We camped at Lake Meredith National Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

“Stayed in free area in picnic lot by beach”
Nightly Rate: $0 USD
Beautiful area but the beach was slippery clay where most people hang out and have fires. There was a fire ban that day. We went by the RR boat ramp to get in the water where there were rocks and...

Tip for Other Campers:
We hiked the Fritch Fortress Trail but it was not maintained very well. It would be fine if you wear long pants (we did not). We ended up walking back to the trailhead on the road as we didn't want to do the path in reverse. If we had long pants, we would have enjoyed the hike very much, great views!
