“Quiet and peaceful.”

Goliad SP is small by Texas State Park standards. Only 21 FHU sites, plus several other water/power sites in other campgrounds. Real attraction of GSP is the restored mission in the park. Lots of...

Day trip to Victoria is a good adventure. Lots of Texas history there also. Presidio, which was staffed by Spanish soldiers to "guard" the mission is at the edge of the park.
Tips from campers about Goliad State Park
- ghathaway3 Don't go there unless your rig is small enough to navigate the turns and fit into the tight spaces. However, this is an ideally located park with easy access to Zion, Bryce, and Cedar Breaks. It would serve as a good base of operations (as was our alternative site) to visit all three.3 years ago Te-aH Navajo Lake
- User4389 June/July/August is a great time of year to visit the area (I've seen the season for this campsite as starting in June and May so I can't say for certain when things kick off). The weather is temperate). Navajo Lake seems very shallow and is a great choice for small sailing boats, canoeing, fishing. This review is being written during July 2020 (during Covid). Utah is NOT practicing safe distancing, nor masks in public.5 years ago Te-aH Navajo Lake
- camper-_1 This is not really a place to go out to eat or shop. It's a place to relax in nature. The nearest shopping is in The Village of Duck Creek, an ATV rental mecca. Reserve a site in advance if possible. There are 15 first come first serve sites, so get there at 2:00 check in time because they go fast. A road goes right by the campground and you can hear vehicles if your site is close to the road, but the aspens and spruces make up for it. Bring a bike to ride on the Navaho Lake Trail that has a direct connection from the lower looop of the campground. Drivr to the Cascade trailhead and take a spectaculer half mile each way hike where you can see panoramic views and an amazing waterfall.5 years ago Te-aH Navajo Lake

“More to this park than we thought.”
Nightly Rate: $15 USD
Talk to the Park Ranger, and learn about the local history and flora/fauna. We camped at Goliad State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Tip for Other Campers:
One of the shops has Clark bars (have you watched Reacher on Prime?) which I havent had since a kid.
