Jefferson - quaint town but a lot of places closed including McGaritys, check hours - ALOT closed Mon-WedKayak the trails of Caddo Lake - especially boat trail C - gorgeous - we put in at boat ramp at campground - trail entrance was on left about 1.5-2 miles - the trail is well markedMake sure to have groceries on handPark is not lit so coming...

Mid week stay in the 30 amp no sewer section. There are larger pull through with 50 amp and sewer. We camped at Caddo Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips from campers about Caddo Lake State Park
- Battchief104 Cell service is good. We were able to stream using verizon and t mobile. No wifi and forget about satellite, you are in a thick forest with a high canopy. A convenience store is within bike riding or walking distance. There is a restaurant on the bayou that is within biking distance but would be a long walk. Best to visit in fall, winter or spring. Very hot snd humid in summer and lots of mosquitoes at night.2 years ago Caddo Lake State Park
- Chrisinhouston The park road down to the campsite loops is VERY steep. Use LOW gear! It is one way down and there is a one way up that is not quite as steep. The dump station was on the way out but a bit of a sharp turn to get out after dumping.5 months ago Caddo Lake State Park

Fun park with good fishing, baby alligators, cool looking lake. Store was nice, but we sold out of a lot of park specific souvenirs. We camped at Caddo Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
