It's just an OK park. I say this because there was nothing there to make me want to come back. Overall cleanliness of the park was marginal. Camped in a fifth wheel and was out the next day We camped...

Tips from campers about Oak Ridge Resort

  • David-J Kaslo was a quaint place to explore
  • Cody Besler Chez Serge in Kaslo has legendary poutine (at the stop sign on Hwy 31). A must for anyone traveling through. We loved the Bacon with green onions (our favorite), Montreal smoked meat, and pulled pork poutine. Soft serve ice cream was great on a warm day. Cody Caves tour (book online only). We were able to book same day. No need to worry if you dont have a group size (4 minimum) they require. As long as the have at least 4 people total youll be able to tag along. Ainsworth Hot Springs is a fantastic spot. Book a spot online ahead of arriving (same day was available but not sure that will be the case as the holiday season Ramos up). The restaurant at the hot springs/hotel has spectacular food though we only did lunch there twice (assuming dinner was as great). The bison French onion soup was amazing and the Ruben sandwich was one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had! Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park was awesome. Some great hiking opportunities to say the least. We also explored the Western end of the Earl Grey Pass Trail. The first bridge was out but a careful person should be able to get past using extreme caution. Falling in there would be a mortal problem. We did not pass. Trout Lake was a great drive from our campground. Great Scenery and multiple opportunities for hiking including through old growth interior rainforest areas between Kootenay Lake and Trout Lakes. Its a long trip with not much in the way of services in between. At the north end of the lake just before the townsite is a little store on the right. It has the old style fuel pumps with the glass tops. Likely the only place in North America that youll find this type of operational gas pump. Worth the photo op if nothing else. Theres so much more to explore so get out and find your adventure here! You wont be disappointed.

Very quite and clean park. Located on Lake Fork which is a big bass fishing with a lot of boat traffic. Restaurant in park has very good steaks. We camped at Oak Ridge Resort in a Tent Trailer.
