This park is close to Caprock Canyon where bison roam freely. It's an hour drive to Palo Duro Canyon, the second largest US canyon. We liked that there is a nice food truck on site too. I

Silverton is quite small (pop. 629), with only a Dollar General for shopping. Gas & diesel are available at two stations. Restaurants and more shopping are available in Lubbock, Amarillo, and Plainview.
