Tips from campers about Silverton, TX
- Dan White Silverton is quite small (pop. 629), with only a Dollar General for shopping. Gas & diesel are available at two stations. Restaurants and more shopping are available in Lubbock, Amarillo, and Plainview.2 weeks ago Silver Wind RV Park and Cabins
- Steve and Yoko The park owners also own and operate Briscoe Bites -the food truck at the front of the park. We had the burger and Philly cheese steak - both were terrific! The fries appear to be hand-cut and were perfectly cooked. The onion rings were definitely hand-cut and breaded with their own mix of seasonings. Easily the best onion rings I have ever had! Palo Duro Canyon State Park has numerous trails for hiking, mountain biking and horses. The Lighthouse Rock trail is the most popular for good reason - the rock is magnificent! The big draws at Caprock Canyons State Park are the free-roaming herd of bison and the Prairie Dog town. The Canyon Rim trail is beautiful and is accessible for most visitors as it involves almost no climbing. Check out Silverton Oil & Gas for your fuel needs. Their diesel price was 10 cents/gallon less than the other station in town (Allsup's). Silverton Oil & Gas also refills propane tanks for a very reasonable price.3 weeks ago Silver Wind RV Park and Cabins
- KenMcC954 Dont miss visiting Caprock State Park to see the Texas Bison heard and Palo Duro State Park to see the Texas Grand Canyon! Fantastic hiking available at both nearby state parks! The Dollar General has most things you might need within walking distance. Silverton Oil will fill your propane tanks for $25, for 30# tank. The Allsups has diesel and honors the Open Roads app for fuel discounts. Check Silverton Oil first, their diesel is often cheaper even without the app! Theres a large playground in town, walking distance. Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Chris, has mass on Sunday at 9am, bilingual. The church is never locked, so you can visit any time!1 month ago Silver Wind RV Park and Cabins
