Definately, try Mac and Ernie's restaurant for great food. If you need a grocery store, Bandera is about 12 miles away.

Very small park with a close knit community vibe. Peace and quiet with stunning views. Clean and well kept. Our site (16) was on the end and very spacious. Foliage between sites offer privacy. Didn't...

Tip for Other Campers:

Bandera is a must. If you Google the town website, there's a calendar of events and there are many events. While we were there, there was a Jr. Rodeo, fire department BBQ fundraiser, Veteran's Day parade and lots of other activities.

Tips from campers about Caribbean Cowboy RV Park

  • RVKarvi If you choose a back-in site, choose the south or west sides. On the east side you will have a lovely view of a large commercial building and storage yard. On the north side you will be overlooking the marina parking lot.
  • MsWaldo3 The gate to get in uses the national parks pass ..it will save you 30.00
  • Flying RVers We enjoyed the Antelope Canyon Boat Tour at the Antelope Point Marina. They even sent a golf cart to take us from the campsite to the Marina, and then brought us back to the campsite after the tour. We Kayaked from the public boat ramp, just a short drive from the campground, into the Antelope Canyon portion of Lake Powell. It was breathtaking. Because the lake level is so low, motorboats cannot use the public boat ramp to access the lake, so using the ramp to offload our kayaks and launch them was no issue. There are also a number of companies offering kayak rentals if you didn't happen to bring your own. Horseshoe Bend is just a short drive from the campground, and well worth the $10 parking fee and short walk to the observation area. Both the Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon tours are just a short drive from the campground. We chose to drive a bit farther and do the Antelope Canyon X tour by Taadidiin Tours. We liked that their transportation to the canyon entrance was in air conditioned, enclosed vans, rather than on open bench seats on the back of a pickup truck. We also found that the Canyon X tour was less expensive and had smaller groups. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The park is in a semi-remote location, so the wildlife was excellent! This park is like a deer reserve. There are walking trails in the back half and I saw deer tracks and trails everywhere. Plus...

We have stayed at this park several times over the last three years, but our last visit turned out to be quite different than in the past. There are several year round guests now, and some of the...
