Use your surge protector. We had two power failure/surges during our week long stay. Gas at the camp store is very expensive. Oddly enough, if you drive into Big Bend national Park, you will find at a gas station less expensive about 10 miles past the checkpoint. The store price was $4.22 per gallon. After reading other reviews, we made a point of filling up all our fuel and supplies before going to the area as availability was scarce and very expensive. Try not to plan excursions last minute so there is no problem with availability (missed the opportunity for a sunset ride on horseback).
