Would not return. Staff at the front desk very unfriendly. RV park does not have a dump for black water at every site. Not worth $42 a night We camped at Longhorn Ranch Motel & RV in a Motorhome.

A primitive site RV park that's part of a motel. Not used too often due to location. 12 miles north of Study Butte, Tx. We had the park to ourselves. Roads are a bit rough, but taking it slow...

Tip for Other Campers:

It can be windy in West Texas, so do not leave your awnings out. Bring plenty of drinking water. The water is potable but tastes salty.

LL03 The Old Forge area is wonderful with lots of things to do for adults and kids. If you have trouble with a "too high" sewer pipe at your site, look into buying a Camco Rhino Sewer Hose Support. It works much better than the slinky style.

favoritebird Old Forge is a touristy area and very busy during the main season. There are many places to eat--we liked Walt's diner for breakfast. There are numerous places to enjoy hiking, paddling, etc. We enjoyed a paddle on the Moose River and rented a canoe from Mountainman. This rental place was very nice, courteous and reasonably priced.

Wonderful place to kick back and unwind in the Big Bend. Close enough to the action but still the feeling of being off the grid! Sunrise is the best and only eclipsed by a cerveza watching the sunset....
