We enjoy coming here. The park is very clean, which makes it very relaxing. Not a long drive from home campsites have shade. We stayed with full hook up electric water, sewer in site 030, HORSESHOE...

Tips from campers about Lake Whitney State Park
- Tundra Matt There are some good restaurants in Whitney, TX just outside the park and Wal-Mart is about 20 minutes away in Hillsboro, TX. Waco is about 40 minutes away where you can do an easy day outing to see the Dr Pepper museum, Magnolia Market, food, and shopping. I'd recommend, while you're in the area, take an excursion to see the Mammoth National Monument. It's just west of Waco and is an absolute, must-see. It's $6/per adult standard entry fee with discounts for vet's, elderly, children, etc. The National Park Pass does NOT gain you anything and the entry fee is part of the agreement between Waco and the NPS to help maintain the grounds. Don't take food or drink into the park as you will NOT be allowed to take ANY food or drinks inside the dig site.2 years ago Lake Whitney State Park

- Persell Party We tried R&K cafe and it did not disappoint. Chicken Fried Steak was well worth it. We didn't do much else but enjoy the park and take evening walks. This is a great place if you love to fish.7 months ago Lake Whitney State Park
