Tips from campers about Sand Island Recreation Area
- V-M J.C. Penney mother store employees were so informative and friendly - they gave us the history of Mr. Penney and a handout of the history of JCP and the store. The store sells a little of everything, and has a lot of original JCP memorabilia lining the walls; the store is still laid out in its original design - a little slice of Americana and very fun to see for anyone who grew up shopping at J.C. Staff is very nice and helpful, the lots are great for what we needed. Loved the walking trails by the lake. We camped at Sand Island Recreation Area in a Motorhome.
