“Perfect no frills base camp for exploring Grand Staircase”

We only spent 1 day in Escalante and should have planned for more days 3/5. Lots to see in the area.
Tips from campers about Canyons of Escalante RV Park
- swike We hiked both Upper and Lower Calf Creek - wonderful waterfalls at the end of each. We hiked to the Weavers' Caves, down Hole in the Rock Road to hike through the two slot canyons of Spooky and Peek-a-Boo, we drove rte 12 both in our Jeep and our RV, we also drove down Long Canyon and the Notom-Bullfrog Rd as part of a circle from Capital Reef, we hiked by and through Escalante River to the arch and also climbed up to the 100 Hands pictograph above the Escalante River TH. We had a wonderful time in this area - there is so much to see and do. Threre is one grocery store (Griffins) and several restaurants. Yes, the prices are high but - you're in Escalante (a long way to bring groceries in). All of the things to do and see here balance out the grocery and restaurant prices. Owners are friendly and very helpful. Sites are nicely laid out. Town is small but has groceries, gas, hardware store and restaurants. We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Motorhome.
