- Wolf65 Beware of ticks they are known in this area, there is full sun no tree coverage. The lighthouse on montauk point is super close maybe 10 to 15 minute ride great restaurants and shops on the main rd in town also hiking trails that are not difficult with suburb views. No dogs allowed at this campground and fires are allowed on the beach11 months ago Hither Hills State Park
- Kermit88 Check out the picnic area behind the East area. We saw 2 great sunsets while there (Both off premises). 1) Fort Lake - free and absolutely amazing 2) Montauket - amazing!3 years ago Hither Hills State Park
- GottaLuvLife Need to book 9 months to the day to book a site during peak season. Also, you need to book entire week starting on a Fri, Sat, or Sun.3 years ago Hither Hills State Park

Tip for Other Campers:
Be sure to see the hoo doos in Goblin Valley. Spend a day exploring Escalante and then treat yourself to a fantastic dinner at Hells Backbone Griil & Farm in Boulder, UT. This is an all natural, locally sourced venue. Expensive but outstanding!
