“Small but absolutely beautiful! ”
Nightly Rate: $60 USD
Quaint town and beautiful small RV Park. Will definitely stay again. Relaxing! We camped at Fries New River Trail RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cell phone reception is not good in the area so make sure your gps is set before getting into the back roads. There is a great bike trail to explore and also kayaking/tubing on the river. Several places to eat in the area of Galax which is not far from the town of Fries.

Tip for Other Campers:
The Walmart in Galax is the cleanest in the Walmart industry that we've ever been in!! Visited Carol's Consignment shop in Galax-always find great things there at great prices! Ate at a little coffee shop (briar patch??) in Galax downtown area-awesome! Visited Mt Airy, too!

Tip for Other Campers:
Small town feel in Fries(pronounced freeze). Biking or hiking the new river trail is the main event if you like. Or just peace and quiet if you prefer.

Do the Rail to Trail even if you have to rent a bicycle - great adventure.
We took 94 in off 81 and did not have a problem with the curvy roads.
