Tip for Other Campers:
The ferry across the James river to get to Williamsburg is free and convenient. It runs 24/7 basically about every 30 minutes and we never had to wait long

Tip for Other Campers:
Lots to do if you want to get out and about. Take a drive to Smithfield, nice walkable downtown with plenty of shops and restaurants. Smithfield is the country (salt) ham capital of the world, you will have no trouble finding country ham dishes at the restaurants. If you want to hit the attractions across the James River, there is a free ferry you can catch...

Tip for Other Campers:
I would recommend going to Alliance Rd from any direction. It is a bit narrow but not too exciting in our 33 foot A with a dollied toad. RV Life directed us to take Highgate. Highgate is narrow enough that even cars slow down when passing. I don't think two big rigs could handle it without someone pulling over. I would be uncomfortable in any case.

“Great park, little cell signal”
Nightly Rate: $45 USD
Park was great but little to no cell signal at camp sites (Verizon/Tmobile). We only had signal near the main office. We camped at Chippokes Plantation State Park in a Travel Trailer.
