Tips from campers about Bremerton, WA

  • RRKaren The guided hike was very informative regarding the history of the park, the Native people who lived here, and the petroglyphs they left behind - I highly recommend! It was very interesting to watch the rock climbers with their huge pads to fall upon! This state park attracts a lot of climbers due to the natural hand holds in the mountains. The state park limits the number of people in the park, which is good.
  • David & Pamela Take advantage of the areas that you have general access to and if you have time, get a Ranger Guided Tour in the other areas (2.5hrs). Be aware that this is a climbing destination so there are LOTS of climbers carrying bouldering mats/crash pads up to the base of the rock they intend to climb. The park limits the visitation to 70hds at any one time and they regulate that headcount at the main gate. We hiked most of the trails in the north section and never felt crowded. Lots of rabbits around the campground and yes, we did hear the howl of some coyotes around dusk.
  • Hopefultraveler The rock formations and pictographs in this park are amazing! They limit the number of people who can enter each day, so check out hiking permits and guided hikes prior to arriving. It is a very popular bouldering park.
