If you are coming any time between Jan-March the Crappie are in the Canals and fishing is really fun with them so close to the shore....

Tip for Other Campers:
Not a lot around the campsite. It is about 9 miles to the main part of Castle Rock. Castle Rock has a wonderful quilt store if that is your thing. We also ate some great tamales at Los Altos in Castle Rock. Cheap, quick, and just made. There is a nice sized grocery store there. Starlink worked great. Didn't try the park internet....

- Tommy-D Nearest town is about 12 miles away if you forget anything. Bridge over lake is under construction still, so be prepared for a slight delay. Park is split into a north section and south section by highway 190. There are hiking and kayak trails on both so be sure to visit both sides if thats your interest.3 days ago Martin Dies JR. Sketchy phone service & wi fi unless you sit in the office. Found a great brewery nearby, Ashland Brewing- great beer & food too!...
