“It was a very nice, shady park. ”
Nightly Rate: $45 USD
There were several playgrounds and the facilities looked nice. The access road is very long. We arrived late at night and were literally the only humans at the park! Not surprised, it was very cold...

Very nice remote old school campground with beautiful trees and small streams running past our campsite. We camped at Kanawha State Forest in a Travel Trailer.

Tips from campers about Kanawha State Forest
- Luis URQUIA We stayed next to the edge of the canyon and on our second night the wind was nothing to play around with. This area is prone to high winds with dust storms. We had no damage, but be ready because this happens in the month we were there pretty frequently. Places we visited included Valley of the Gods, Moki Dugway, Muley Point, Mexican Hat and Monument Valley. The four corners are also doable, but there is nothing much more to see there other than having pictures for bragging rights.3 years ago Goosenecks State Park
- BobL158 Bring food, closest town is Mexican Hat and I only saw very limited restaurants. Camp sites were mostly empty until around 4pm, when several campers arrived2 weeks ago Goosenecks State Park
- Babas Checkout nearby Moki Dugway, and the Valley of the Gods.5 months ago Goosenecks State Park

“Youre definitely in a forest!”
Nightly Rate: $35 USD
I initially tried to book online for a 1 night stay but the site kept changing my data and wanted to charge over $130. I called the reservation center the next morning and the nice person got me the...

Bring all of your leveling blocks and water. There is a dump station but its location on the one-lane road means you might be blocking traffic.
“If you are looking for seclusion, this is it.”
Nightly Rate: $36 USD
Wonderful campground secluded inside of Kanawha State Forest. No cell service, if you are okay with that, then this is a place for you. Narrow roads for travel, but doable. We camped at a pull-thru...

“Remote location with lots of hiking”
Nightly Rate: $49 USD
We spent two nights at Kanawha State Forest. The sites are "natural" but I was surprised at how easily I was able to level our 25' motorhome. The first night of our stay we were the only RV in the...

Tip for Other Campers:
There is NO internet or data reaching the park. We took a hike up to the Pine Ridge Trail and found we could get an internet connection so we downloaded our emails and whatever then returned to the past of no outside world contact at our site, #45. Some sites apparently do offer a discount so ask when making your reservation.
