Dont come in after dark. Its challenging enough backing into some of the sites. Luckily other campers hopped up to help us and got us in just fine.
Tips from campers about Holly River State Park
- Dave & Marilyn Carry a stand alone GPS that doesnt depend on your cell phone. There are vast stretches of road with ZERO signal. Also recommend a road atlas. Make sure you do your homework on routing when you are pulling a big camper. I highly suggest coming/going from the north down Hwy 20. If you are coming from I-79 take rt. 19 from Flatwoods to rt. 4 to rt. 20. The gps will try to bring you via other routes from Flatwood but DONT DO IT!!! Coming in via 20 will have you turning into the park to a downhill driveway with a very sharp angle with a real possibility of dragging, especially with a longer rig. If you continue down Rt 20 for about 1.25 miles there is a WV Department of Highways facility on the left that you can turn around in and come back to the park with a good angle to enter without dragging.3 years ago Holly River State Park
