“Very Peaceful”
Nightly Rate: $37 USD
When we arrived, there was really only us and one TT in campground and left the next day. We camped at Horseshoe Bend Rec Area - Lake McClure in a Fifth Wheel.

Garmin took us in from Merced on 59 nice drive but a little narrow once in a while but manageable. Then took us to Coulterville when we left. It seemed a nicer highway till we hit mountains and it was terrifying. A lot off switch backs and very steep. Truck transmission went into limp mode. Could not get repaired. “Tight roads in park and rough roads to get to park. ”

Site was nice. People across the street made it tight. Several cars. They move cars to make it easier to park. We camped at Heyburn Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tip for Other Campers:
Theres a True Value Hardware Store thats also a drugstore about a half mile down the road (walkable). They have about anything you might need at reasonable prices. Theres a grocery store in the same area too.
