Question: What does upgrading to KOA Standards actually mean. i wouldn't think they could move a freeway to one side of the park and a busy rail line to the other side. Maybe it includes spreading fine dust onto the roadways so every vehicle driving by can send up a cloud. Seriously, in my opinion, KOA's are usually the road hard and put up wet campgrounds, aka, the bottom of the barrel, and usually charge the highest rates in an area. And yes, there are a few nice ones, very few, the one just up the road from the Grand Ole Opry was very nice, but $150 a night. And the one in Petaluma is pretty nice too. But of the other 50 or so we stayed in were very dusty, extreme road & train noise and overpriced places.

Good question and I should have phrased it better without reference to general "KOA standards". I could see the place was poorly maintained in the past, and the new owner was still busy with repairs and upgrades. Even then the campground stood out positively compared to many others we visited this spring (KOA or otherwise). I recommend it. Jacob, Leiden, Netherlands....
