“Be aware that it's a day-to-day situation due to upcoming construction closures”
Nightly Rate: $12 USD
First off, we love Fontainbleu State Park. But there is a caveat right now: advanced reservations are closed for the summer and availability is day-to-day until the construction starts on a new septic...

Old Mandeville and Old Covington are both cute historic areas with boutiques, bars, coffee shops, and restaurants/cafes. About a 40 minute trip across the Causeway to New Orleans. WW2 Museum in New Orleans is a world-class museum affiliated with Smithsonian. Plan at least a full day and more likely 2 days to see the whole thing. Really well done. The French...

Nightly Rate: $70 USD
Ok, so if you're trying to stay around Seattle, you know the struggle. There are very few nice campgrounds convenient to Seattle. This is one of them, but it's hard to get reservations here. Most of...

Tip for Other Campers:
North Bend is close by - the diner there was featured in the old Twin Peaks TV series. Lake Sammamish is very close for walking, hiking, cycling trails. Gas is very expensive here. Actually, everything is very expensive here. Snoqualmie Falls is a "don't miss" attraction. You can be up to the pass in 45 minutes - beautiful trip up I-90 the whole way. If you...

Tip for Other Campers:
The drives through the redwoods are very twisty/turny at times. We are in a 43' motorhome pulling a toad and it got hairy at times. For sightseeing in our car, however, it was fun and so beautiful. Trees of Mystery is just down the road and very fun if you have kids. SeaQuake Brewing has a great brew pub with good food and lots of beers & ciders on tap.
“No-frills park conveniently located to Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP”
Nightly Rate: $80 USD
The back side of the park (mostly invisible to the small RV section) is a pretty run-down mobile home park. There is a stream running through the park that is more like a rushing river.... Too swift...

Tip for Other Campers:
Access to the north entrance of Kings Canyon/Sequoia. We liked the south entrance better. Not as many services available up this way and the park is farther away from the NP entrance.
“NOT big rig friendly. Very few 50A spots - all taken by smaller rigs”
Nightly Rate: $0 USD
If you like a family-friendly, jam-packed park next to a river and close to Yosemite and you're in a small rig, this place is for you. There is no reserving a spot - all are first-come, first-served,...

Tip for Other Campers:
West entrance to Yosemite is VERY close! Cell phone service is non-existent. Park sells wi-fi access. Groceries and restaurants are 20 minutes away.
