    We enjoyed Goose Island State Park years ago, but more recently, have avoided going there due to the overhanging oak tree limbs on the entrance road which have become too low to clear our motorhome, which is 14' above ground at some points.Can anyone who has recently been there report on whether anything has been done to provide access to taller vehicles?...

      Hi,Harvey stripped many of the branches on the live oaks in the park, but as of 2020, the trees are recovering. There are still a number of trees that RVers need to watch carefully, especially on Bayberry Drive. It's easy enough to avoid the low-lying branches, though. The park intends to have the beach sites opened again, perhaps later this year. We go to this park every year and have no problem with the tree branches, by paying attention to them.       We visited in Feb 2023 and are here again Oct 2023, as far as I can tell the branches have not changed they have placed visibility markers on the lower branches so you have to be careful but it’s doable. I don’t know if they are 14 feet high clearance. We have a 5th wheel 13.6 and we cleared them....
