“Tranquil site right on the beach”

We camped at Goose Island to see the Whooping cranes and other birds. Took an afternoon to see the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi. Great museum. Well worth the 45 min drive from the park.

Question:
We enjoyed Goose Island State Park years ago, but more recently, have avoided going there due to the overhanging oak tree limbs on the entrance road which have become too low to clear our motorhome, which is 14' above ground at some points.Can anyone who has recently been there report on whether anything has been done to provide access to taller vehicles?...

7 miles from Galveston. Has its own beach in close proximity to camp sites. Bathrooms clean and modern. Everyone very friendly and helpful. We camped at Goose Island State Park in a Motorhome.
