Larger grocery and supply stores (H-E-B and Walmart) are in Rockport (10 miles, 17 minute drive).
Attractions are mostly in the Corpus Christi area or in Port Aransas on Mustang Island. Texas State Aquarium, USS Lexington (WWII aircraft carrier) and several art and science museums are easy drives.
“Unfriendly Staff”

I have been to this park many times in my life. Never experienced unfriendly staff until now. These people have no business in customer service. Park is nice as usual. Very windy. Lots of mosquitos....

- Fred and Lisa W We camped at Goose Island to see the Whooping cranes and other birds. Took an afternoon to see the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi. Great museum. Well worth the 45 min drive from the park.2 months ago Goose Island State Park

Tip for Other Campers:
Rockport is just across the bridge. Pirate laundry was clean with lots of working machines. Panjos pizza was pretty good for lunch and reasonably priced. Bring your bikes (e-bikes) as the roads are very rideable out to the ocean and around the campground.

We enjoyed Goose Island State Park years ago, but more recently, have avoided going there due to the overhanging oak tree limbs on the entrance road which have become too low to clear our motorhome, which is 14' above ground at some points.Can anyone who has recently been there report on whether anything has been done to provide access to taller vehicles?...
